Steve Ballmer was born in Detroit Michigan to Beatrice Dworkin and Frederic Henry Ballmer. His father was a Swiss immigrant, and his mother was a Jewish American. In 1977, Steve graduated top of his class from Harvard University. When Steve graduated from Harvard he went to work for Proctor and Gamble. He worked there for two years before leaving to work for Microsoft. Steve met Bill Gates while attending Harvard University. Steve Ballmer joined Microsoft in 1980 and became the first non-programming job the company created. Over the next twenty years Ballmer had his hand in numerous areas of Microsoft’s development. In 2000, Steve Ballmer became the official CEO of Microsoft. During the time that Steve was pouring hours in to the vision of Microsoft he was able to meet the love of his life, marry, and have three sons. Steve Ballmer was able to turn Microsoft into a 70 billion dollar business. He launched innovative technology to stay a float, like XBOX, XBOX 360. He launched a revamped cellphone operating system, and he acquired several lucrative start ups like Skype, and Bing. He has kept the computer operating system of Microsoft as a staple by continuing to release new operating systems. While some have been fails the next has been right around the corner to keep ideas and technology fresh. As CEO of Microsoft many have felt that that he made several mistakes, but one should note that Steve Ballmer made solid decisions for Microsoft. He resigned from Microsoft to become the owner of the NBS Clippers team.
